BAND: Powervice

Biografie

Powervice was founded in the Eindhoven/Tilburg area in the summer of 2004, but only got their current line-up together in the summer of 2005. Their goal is to play hardrock/heavy metal as it was made in the early eighties. That means: real men, playing real songs, with real instruments. The band is mainly influenced by NWOBHM (early Maiden, Angel Witch, Rainbow and UFO) and US metal (like early Manowar and Riot) played with a lot of energy by skilled musicians. After only a few months they recorded a 3 track demo at the Void Studio, Eindhoven with Pieter Kloos, famous for his ability to make bands sound natural instead of the overproduced protools productions that seem to dominate the (metal)market these days. To everybodys (even their own) surprise, these recordings, released by the band itself under the name Behold the Hand of Glory, hit the scene like a bomb. Literally within days they got offered shows and their energetic stage show impressed the growing audiences even more. The demo found its way to metal fans and critics all over the world and got great reviews in the underground and mainstream press, among those critics, they were demo of the month in RockHard Germany (review by Götz Kühnemund) and got a feature in Malcolm Domes radio show (totalrock.com). As of right now, the band is getting themselves a good live reputation by playing as many shows as possible in the Holland, Belgium and Germany area where they supported bands like Anthrax, Saxon, Riot, High on Fire, Blitzkrieg, Vengeance and Nashville Pussy. Highlights of 2006 (up until now) was a Keep it True VI appearance (with Riot, Ross the Boss, Exciter and Grim Reaper) and a spot on Headbangers open air (with Metal Church) were they celebrated their 50th show since first date in late 2005, which shows the bands hard working. Besides a short trip to Athens Up the Hammers festival, they also played some festival appearances in the Netherlands and sold over 1800 copies of their demo at their gigs and through their website almost without distribution.
